2004 Mitchell Watervale Riesling

Bright straw colour with delicate green hue. The lime notes are dominant, followed by spice and lemon. The palate is relatively closed with flavours of lime and tropical fruit emerging. Clean acid finish – the acidity is holding up. Lime aftertaste.

First tasted, September 2004:
An austere Riesling that needs time to soften and gain complexity. Brilliant straw colour. Aroma of spice and tropical fruit followed by a floral endnote. The palate is austere with a lemon juice characteristic that leaves the mouth puckering with acidity.
