An outstanding Cabernet, which has already accumulated 3 trophies and 3 gold medals, following in the footsteps of the hugely successful 2004 Lake Breeze Bernoota Shiraz Cabernet. Made from 35-40 year old vines planted on the Follett family vineyard the wine was matured in a combination of French and American oak barriques for 20 months. Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue, with impressive cling to the walls of the glass. Top notes of blackcurrant, cedar and liquorice, delivering a classic Cabernet sniff with an abundance of ripe fruit aroma. The palate is generous with flavours of cedar, spice and blackcurrant, followed by a peppery back palate. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance. Long aftertaste of spice and blackcurrant with black pepper persisting. Fantastic value.
