The name ‘Bernoota’ was the original name given to the homestead on the Lake Breeze property – it is Aboriginal for ‘camp among the gum trees’.

This is an excellent red, made from a blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and matured in a combination of American and French oak barriques for 20 months. Given it’s price tag this wine has had remarkable success on the show circuit culminating with the 2004 vintage which has won 3 trophies and numerous gold medal including the Max Schubert trophy for Best Red Wine at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show.

Spectacular opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Light toasted oak top note, followed by vanilla, violets and blackberry. The palate displays excellent weight, with flavours of spice and black pepper over a plum and black cherry background. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance. Long aftertaste of blackberry, spice, violet and chocolate. Fantastic value – limited stocks.
