Jim Barry was Clare Valley's first qualified winemaker, having graduated from Roseworthy in 1947. In 1959, he purchased his own property on the northern outskirts of the Clare and in 1964, 70 acres of land was purchased from Duncan McRae Wood, the site which today produces fruit for the 'Armagh' and The McRae Wood.

An outstanding Clare Valley Shiraz.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson purple hue. Superb, lifted nose of blackberry, liquorice, vanilla and spice – a great sniff. The palate delivers all that the nose promises and more. Superb ripe fruit flavours, with excellent weight and mouthfeel. Mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, plum, cherry, vanilla and blackberry fill the mouth, followed by a long black pepper aftertaste. Perfect balance. Very long aftertaste of vanilla, plum, liquorice, blackberry and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 15%
