2004 Grosset Gaia Dry Red

This superb wine is made from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. The wine was matured for sixteen months in French oak (50% new) and then received twelve months bottle age before being released. Medium body. Superb crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Classic sophisticated Cabernet nose. Top note of cedar, violet, blackcurrant and spice. The palate flavour profile is superb, again showing enormous refinement. Excellent palate weight, flavours of cedar and smoky oak are followed by a hint of cigar box, blackcurrant and liquorice allsorts. Fine grained tannins. Cedar and blackcurrant aftertaste.
