Almost opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Lifted nose of spice, liquorice, raspberry and blackberry, followed by a white pepper end note. The palate has a generous flavour profile. Mouthfilling with flavours of ripe blackberry, plum and liquorice, followed by a hint of mocha on the back palate. Fine grained, dusty tannins. Aftertaste of plum, spice, liquorice all sorts and white and black pepper.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
The 2004 Wilfreda, a blend of 50% Shiraz, 38% Mourvedre, and 12% Grenache aged in old French and American wood, exhibits loads of flowery, spicy, garrigue, strawberry, and cherry characteristics. Medium to full-bodied, dense, surprisingly elegant, and well-balanced, this fruity red should drink well for 5-7 years.
