Dalton Winery is located in the Upper Galilee region of North Israel, in close proximity to the Lebanese border.  Miraculously the vineyards and winery were not scathed by the 70 rockets that fell in the area during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon Conflict.  Despite the risks, the winery maintained dedicated to the vineyard during the harvest, geared up with helmets and flak jackets.

The winemaking team have close ties with Australia.  Chief winemaker, Naama Mualem joined Dalton in 2002 after graduating from Roseworthy in Adelaide.  Naama works closely with Australian born and educated international wine consultant, John Worontschak.  Worontchak is a graduate of Charles Sturt University with experience with some of the big names of the industry, Penfolds and Hugel of Alsace, France.

Tasting Note:This wine is classified as Kosher for Passover.  Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue.  Aroma of blackcurrant, cedar and spice followed by a stewed fruit and cigar box end note.  The palate flavour profile is very Bordeaux like, with the cassis and liquorice flavours integrated with cedar and spice.  Fine grained tannins, dry, but with excellent balance.  Long aftertaste of cassis, spice and cedar.
