Phillip and Jeni Moraghan’s Curly Flat vineyard has become a benchmark for Australian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The couple’s obsession with terroir and viticultural excellence is apparent upon inspection of two unusual trellis systems. Lyre Bird and Geneva Double Curtain. Each of these trellis systems aims at maximising sunlight penetration into the core of the vine, hereby facilitating better ripening, improved wine colour, increased intensity of flavour and reduced plant disease risk.

A sophisticated Pinot.

Medium body. Bright crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Perfumed nose – quite intense, with strawberry jam top note, followed by violet and subtle spicy oak. The palate delivers power and finesse. Flavours of strawberry, plum and cherry evolve, supported by a velvet tannin structure. Excellent length and power. Exceptionally long aftertaste of plum, cherry and spice.
Cellar 4-5 years (2011-2012)
