Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue.  The nose displays a hint of new leather followed by raspberry, spice and cherry.  The palate flavours are relatively light with leather and stewed plum emerging.  Fine grained, dryish tannins.  Aftertaste of leather and stewed plum.

First tasted, March 2006:
Coriole pioneered the making of Sangiovese in Australia with its first plantings in 1985. Bright crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body . Aroma of ripe strawberry, followed by a hint of earth, leather, violet infusions and plum – in other words a great sniff! The palate does not deliver what the nose has promised. There are some strawberry, spice, earth and leather flavours but without the depth or mouthfeel that say, the Vinea Marson Sangiovese delivers. Fine, dryish tannins.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
