James Halliday, Australia’s most respected wine writer ,founded Coldstream Hills in 1985, and established it’s reputation as one of the Yarra Valley’s top wineries. Today Halliday still consults, but it's Andrew Fleming that is responsible for winemaking. Fleming's international influences are quite discernable in both the Shiraz and Cabernet, having made wine at Chateau Haut Brion and La Perouse in France as well as Matanzas Creek in the Sonoma Valley.

A superb example of cool climate Shiraz.

Almost opaque black purple crimson colour with black crimson hue. Wonderful nose, with violet top note, spice, blackberry, vanilla and confectionary. The palate is very refined, elegant, with force and style – mouthfilling flavour profile. Very long aftertaste of spice, white pepper, vanilla, confectionary and blackberry.
Cellar 4-5 years (2011-2012)
Alc/Vol: 14%
