2004 Clarendon Hills Moritz Vineyard Syrah

Clarendon, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
$76. 99
Bottle
$923.88 Dozen
Cellar: 8 - 10 Years (2014-2016)
ABV: 14.5%
Closure: Cork

Totally opaque black purple colour with purple hue.  The wine has excellent cling to the walls of the glass leaving a crimson film.  The nose is perfumed, delivering that classic lifted Moritz sniffing experience.  Aroma of violets, spice and blackberry are followed by a generous palate but without the depth, length or seamless quality that the 2003 delivered.  Flavours of plum, blackberry and spice emerge, supported by fine grained tannins with aftertaste of plum, blackberry and spice.
Cellar 8-10 years (2014-2016)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%

Robert Parkers Review:
The saturated purple-hued 2004 Syrah Moritz Vineyard boasts a gorgeously complex nose of graphite, blueberries, blackberries, smoke, and camphor. Great fruit, a juicy, unctuous palate with fabulous density, good underlying acidity, ripe tannin, and a long, nearly 60-second finish suggest it should drink well for 10-15+ years.
