A superb example of Grenache.  Almost opaque, black purple colour with deep purple mauve hue.  The nose displays excellent depth of aroma and intensity, showing much more than the Kangarilla, Clarendon or Hickinbotham wines.  The palate follows the power and concentration of the 2002 and 2003 vintages.  Explosive, mouthfilling palate - flavours of white pepper, raspberry, liquorice and blood plum abound. The palate has a real 'joosy' mouthfeel reflective of the qualities found in many other top 2004 reds.  Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, with very long aftertaste of blackberry, raspberry, liquorice and spice.
Cellar 8-10 years (2014-2016)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%

Robert Parkers Review:
Roman Bratasiuk always refers to the Grenache Old Vines Blewitt Springs as his "Dolly Parton." The big, voluptuous, exuberant, full-bodied 2004 boasts rich raspberry and cherry fruit, a silky, nearly viscous texture, and a surprisingly elegant style. It emerges from an east-facing gravelly vineyard, and should drink well for 7-8 years.
