2004 Bass Phillip Gamay

The Gamay from Bass Phillip was planted as early as 1988. Translucent crimson mauve colour with a hint of brick red. The nose is very delicate, with light strawberry notes, followed by a hint of confectionary. The palate structure is light and dry – no resemblance to Beaujolais, or even Pinot, but more like a light Rose style. Soft tannins and acid. Light strawberry and confectionary aftertaste.
