2004 Barratt Merlot

This wine has been produced from 7 year old vines grown on the Bonython vineyard – fermented in small open fermentation tanks and matured for 14 months in French barriques.
Medium body, crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Top note of mulberry, cedar and spice followed by a hint of truffle. The palate delivers flavours of ripe mulberry, followed by subtle earth, truffle and cedar. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. A wine that displays impressive varietal character.
