Baddaginnie Run belongs to Winsome McCaughey and her family, with son Toby as winemaker. Some will recall Winsome as being one time Mayor of the City of Melbourne, but it seems her true love was not politics but agriculture. Her family originally settled the valley 130 years ago, clearing the land for sheep farming and cropping. The vineyard is located in the Rotherlea Valley.

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of mulberry, spice and liquorice followed by a confectionary end note. The palate is very spicy, with mulberry and white pepper emerging, followed by fine dryish tannins. Well balanced. Very long spicy, white pepper, plum and liquorice aftertaste. The entire range of Baddaginnie Run wines are most impressive and deserve a place in your cellar.
