An outstanding example of Petit Verdot and an absolute must to taste.

Petit Verdot is one of five grape varieties that make up the traditional Bordeaux blend. In cool years the variety does not fare well, which is one reason that it has become less popular amongst the Bordeaux producers, however, the variety seems to thrive in warm years – where it develops exceptional depth and complexity.
The colour is sensational and could be mistaken for a Heathcote Shiraz. Total saturation, with black heart and black purple hue. Superb perfumed nose with aroma of violets, spice, blackcurrant and redcurrant. The palate delivers as expected. Mouth filling flavours of great intensity. Liquorice, black pepper, spice and raspberry concentrate fill the mouth, overlayed with lashings of vanilla. Outstanding length and depth, with perfect balanced tannins and very long aftertaste of black and white pepper over blackcurrant.
