Winemaker Trevor Jones has had an extensive career, commencing in 1977 as winemaker at Bernkastel Wines with Robert O’Callaghan. He then went on to work at Karrawirra and Tyrrell’s before returning to the Barossa, joining the family owned winery, Kellermeister. Robert Parker helped Trevor’s career enormously when he awarded him two 100 point scores for an old Barossa Tokay and a Barossa Liqueur Shiraz Tawny. Jones' trademark ‘boots outside the front door’ label and slick packaging have also aided his continued success in Australia and overseas.

A magnificent wine. Opaque black crimson purple colour with deep purple crimson hue. Wonderful, perfumed violet top notes followed by spice, vanilla, a hint of cinnamon and liquorice. Mouthfilling palate with exceptional structure. Flavours of white and black pepper are enhanced by plum, vanilla and spice flavours. Very fine tannins. Perfect balance. Exceptionally long aftertaste of white pepper, plum and spice.
