Crimson brick red colour with brick red hue.  Medium body.  Aroma of strawberry and spice followed by toasted oak, spice and anise.  The palate lacks varietal character – hints of stewed plum and liquorice appear.  Dry tannins, which run right through the wine.  Aftertaste of stewed plum, liquorice and leather.
Cellar 1-2 years (2007-2008)
Alc/Vol: 13.5%

First tasted, March 2006:
Very deep crimson brick red colour with deep brick red hue.  The nose is appealing, with notes of cherry, plum and spice followed by a touch of violets and toasted oak.  The tannin structure of this wine is very severe, and far too dry.  Some light stewed cherry flavours appear on the palate.  There is little Pinot character, length or persistence.
Rating: 78/100
