Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue.  Aroma of vanilla and plum, followed by stewed fruit end notes.  The palate flavours are straightforward with vanilla, plum and stewed fruit evident.  Fine grained tannins which run into the aftertaste.

First tasted, May 2005:
This is the second release of Frost Dodger Shiraz which was grown in the Mount McKenzie Vineyard. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of violets, vanilla, spice and ripe plum, forming an impressive sniff. The palate falls short of the expectations that the nose presents and does not have either the voluptuous characteristics anticipated nor the length and elegance of a cool climate Shiraz. Flavours of plum, stewed fruit and spice emerge, followed by a hint of sour cherry on the back palate. The tannins are soft. Aftertaste of plum and stewed fruit.
