Very deep crimson mauve colour with mauve hue. Aroma of soy, coffee and mocha. On the palate, flavours of soy, mocha, liquorice and dark chocolate emerge, followed by a slightly tarry back palate. Fine dry tannins. Aftertaste of mocha, liquorice, blackberry and spice.
Cellar 1-2 years (2005-2006)
First Tasted April 04:
Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of spice, liquorice, blood plum, violets and cedar. The wine is off to a good start. The palate flavour profile, falls away revealing a simple combination of stewed plum and spice. Soft tannins. Some charry oak characteristics appear, light aftertaste. The palate aftertaste proves to be disappointing.
