Brilliant pale gold colour with pale straw hue showing some bottle age. Aroma of butterscotch, yeast lees and cashew followed by toast and hazelnut end notes. The palate flavours are simple, with butterscotch and yeast lees being dominant. There is little depth. Aftertaste of yeast lees and butterscotch.
Second tasting, June 2005:
Straw green colour with pale straw hue. Aroma of hazelnut, cashews, biscuit and yeast lees showing good barrel ferment colour. Creamy texture, with generous body. Flavours of yeast lees, cashew and citrus emerge on the palate. Soft acid finish. Long aftertaste of yeast lees, cashew, butterscotch and honey.
First tasting, April 2005:
The Jones Road Vineyard was established in 1997 by the Frewer family, and let us say we were impressed by the overall quality of all their wines.
Bright, pale gold colour with straw hue. The nose displays distinct barrel ferment character. Aroma of toasted oak, spice, yeast lees, hazelnut and cashews. Creamy palate texture, with excellent weight and mouthfeel. Flavours of cashew, hazelnut, yeast lees and biscuit emerge. Clean acid finish, with aftertaste of hazelnut, yeast lees and cashew.
