First tasting, April 2005:
The Jones Road Vineyard was established in 1997 by the Frewer family, and let us say we were impressed by the overall quality of all their wines.
Bright, pale gold colour with straw hue. The nose displays distinct barrel ferment character. Aroma of toasted oak, spice, yeast lees, hazelnut and cashews. Creamy palate texture, with excellent weight and mouthfeel. Flavours of cashew, hazelnut, yeast lees and biscuit emerge. Clean acid finish, with aftertaste of hazelnut, yeast lees and cashew.
