2003 Simon Gilbert Cabernet Sauvignon

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson, brick red hue. Aroma of plum and spice followed by stewed fruit. The fruit is dropping away, with stewed fruit and spice being evident on the palate. Fine, dry and chalky tannins which overpower the fruit. Stewed fruit aftertaste with dry tannins persisting.

First tasted, May 2005:
A medium bodied Cabernet showing crimson colour. The nose reveals aroma of confectionary, blackcurrant and spice followed by a hint of chocolate. The palate remains relatively tight, with flavours of blackcurrant and liquorice emerging. Aftertaste of confectionary blackcurrant and spice.
