2003 Penfolds Cellar Reserve Sangiovese

Very deep black crimson colour with deep brick red crimson hue. The nose is appealing, with lifted notes of vanilla, cherry, spice and plum. The palate continues to impress – flavours of cherry, vanilla and spice emerge over a smoky oak background. Excellent length and depth with a touch of confectionary appearing. Fine grained tannins, perfectly balanced. Very long aftertaste of strawberry, spice and confectionary with black pepper remaining very persistent.
