A stunning follow up to the 2002 vintage... The Oliver family is the sixth generation of the Oliver descendents to be living on the White Hill & Taranga farms in McLaren Vale. Their original descendents came to the district in 1839. Currently the property consists of 62 hectares of vineyard. Don & Margie Oliver are amongst McLaren Vale's highest paid winegrowers and have supplied fruit for Penfold's Grange. Consequently, the Taranga wines are always limited, with global demand always out-stripping supply. This wine is testament to the consistently outstanding quality of fruit grown by the Olivers. Opaque black crimson colour with black purple hue. Superb perfumed nose of violet, spice, vanilla and dark chocolate. Explosive, mouthfilling palate with flavours of vanilla, confectionary and spice emerging, followed by dark chocolate, liquorice over a layer of black pepper. Exceptionally long aftertaste of vanilla, blackberry and black pepper. Cellar 5-8 years (2010-2013) Alc/Vol: 14.5%
