2003 Mr Riggs Shiraz

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
$42. 99
Bottle
$515.88 Dozen
Closure: Cork

Yet another triumph for Mr Riggs. A wine with superb flavours, slightly less weight than the 2002 Mr Riggs but showing greater elegance and refinement. The Ben Riggs’ wine making style is very apparent – a little like the brush marks of an artist, yet with each wine and vineyard there are variations evident which reflect the work of a greater Master than Riggs –
This wine has been matured in 80% French and 20% American oak. Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson black hue. The nose delivers a superb sniffing experience. Wonderful notes of liquorice, violets, blackberry, vanilla and cedar emerge. The palate flavour profile is mouth filling, with spice, white and blackpepper dancing on the palate followed by liquorice, plum and vanilla. Outstanding length and depth, perfectly balance tannin structure with exceptionally long spice and pepper aftertaste.
