2003 Koltz Shiraz

Winemaker Mark Day has produced a refined Shiraz. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of plum and spice followed by a touch of truffle and liquorice. The palate does not have the big fruit bulk that is so evident in many McLaren Vale reds, however, having said that, there is a sense of style that comes with a slightly lower alcohol than the norm. Flavours of vanilla, plum and spice are supported by fine grained tannins. Excellent balance. Very peppery aftertaste.
