Very deep crimson colour with crimson hue.  The nose reveals a hint of dried apricot followed by plum and stewed fruit.  The palate flavour profile is drier than expected.  Flavours of plum and stewed fruit emerge with dry chalky tannins which persist well into the aftertaste.  Aftertaste of stewed fruit, liquorice and dried apricot.

First tasted, July 2005:
If you have had difficulty identifying the dried apricot characteristics of Viognier, then you’ll clearly recognise them in this wine. Very deep crimson black colour with deep crimson hue. The nose is perfumed with distinct nose of apricot, spice and plum. The palate has weight and good mouthfeel, with distinct dried apricot palate flavours – if anything the dried apricot characteristic is too evident, continuing to dominate well into the aftertaste. The Shiraz takes a back seat with this wine.
