The name of this wine translates to mean "The Slate of Bernkasteler.” A superb Kabinett Riesling. Brilliant pale straw colour. The nose has an amazing degree of intensity given that the wine is only 7.5% Alc/Vol. There is nothing unripe about the aroma or flavour, merely a fair amount of residual sweetness that has been left in the wine. Intense nose of spice, lime, orange rind and mandarin, over a floral background. The palate has excellent weight and mouthfeel, with flavours of lime, spice, loquat and mandarin emerging. Excellent length. Clean acid finish, long aftertaste of lime mandarin and loquat.
