2003 De Bortoli Yarra Valley Shiraz Viognier

Very deep black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose with dried apricot top notes followed by spice, plum, liquorice and confectionary end notes. The palate reveals flavours of plum, spice and stewed fruit over a dried apricot background. Fine dry tannins. Dried apricot aftertaste.

First tasted, November 2004:
Very deep crimson colour with deep mauve purple hue. The nose is delicately perfumed, with aroma of liquorice, violets and blackberry followed by a hint of apricot, The palate has impressive ripe fruit flavours of ripe plum, blackberry, spice and white pepper, mouthfilling with fine grained tannins, perfectly balanced, with exceptionally long aftertaste of spice, liquorice, and blackberry.
