2003 Clonakilla Viognier

Wine maker Tim Kirk has taken over the family operations having progressed from his earlier aspirations of joining the clergy and later teaching at a Melbourne public school. The colour and start of the wine is exceptional. Brilliant gold colour with pale gold hue. Lifted nose of apricot, tropical fruit and guava, showing strong spice and aromatics. The palate has good weight and cream texture, however fails to deliver on length and concentration of flavours. Soft acid finish. Aftertaste of tropical fruit, apricot and spice.
