This wine has evolved beautifully since we tasted it a year ago.  Very deep crimson colour with crimson hue.  The nose has evolved, delivering aromas of spice, plum, vanilla and confectionary followed by a hint of violet as an end note.  The palate, too, has filled out, and gained complexity.  Confectionary and spice are followed by a hint of pepper and new leather.  Velvet tannin structure.  Aftertaste of spice, plum and confectionary.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%

First tasted, August 2005: Very deep crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body. Aroma of violets and spice – the nose is quite refined, followed by endnotes of plum and truffle. The palate is tightly structured, with flavours of stewed fruit and spice with nuances of vanilla. Slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruit, with dry chalky tannins persisting.
