Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue.  Lifted nose of violets, ripe plum, blackberry and spice followed by a liquorice end note.  The palate delivers flavours of stewed fruit and spice over a liquorice background.  Fine grained tannins.  Stewed fruit, plum aftertaste.

First tasted, April 2005:
A commercial wine, in the fuller style. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson mauve hue. The nose displays a hint of plum and spice, with a touch of blackberry. Good palate weight. Flavours of ripe plum and liquorice, with a hint of dark chocolate. Soft tannins. Liquorice plum aftertaste.
