A magnificent example of the blend. Opaque black crimson colour with crimson hue. The nose is quite perfumed. Aroma of spice and red current followed by a hint of liquorice, blackberry and vanilla. The palate has excellent weight and mouthfeel, showing complex layers of blackberry, spice and vanilla with a hint of cherry ripe on the back palate. Perfect balance. Very long vanilla, spice, cherry ripe aftertaste.

Robert Parker Review:
The stunning 2002 Shiraz/Viognier is composed of 91% Shiraz and 9% Viognier that were co-fermented, experienced an indigenous yeast fermentation, and spent 18 months in primarily French oak (39% new). A glorious perfume of apricot jam, blackberry liqueur, cassis, licorice, and pepper is followed by a wine with superb texture, medium to full body, low acidity, and sweet tannin. It is an upfront, hedonistic, mouthfilling 2002 to drink now and over the next 5-7 years.
