This wine clearly demonstrates the strength of the 2002 vintage. Inexpensive, yet it over-delivers on flavour.
Opaque black crimson mauve purple colour – very youthful. The nose is distinctive and driven by primary fruit. Notes of spice, liquorice, dark chocolate and blackcurrant. The palate is full bodied with lots of spice flavours and quite dominant fruit / liquorice strap, blackcurrant and blackpepper flavour. Fine grained firmish tannins, dry but balanced, followed by a long blackpepper and liquorice aftertaste.
