2002 Stanton & Killeen Moodemere Shiraz

This is classic Rutherglen Shiraz. The Moodemere Vineyard was planted in 1968 by Norm Killeen and today is run by his son Chris. The wine has been matured in one year old American oak. Deep crimson mauve colour with mauve purple hue. There is a hint of earth and leather on the nose followed by hints of confectionary, vanilla, plum and spice showing plenty of ripe Shiraz character. The palate displays ripe fruit flavours of dark chocolate, mint, blackberry, spice and liquorice. Generous palate weight with mouthfilling ripe fruit flavours. Fine grained dry tannins. Long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, dark chocolate and plum.
