This wine is much more advanced on palate flavours than expected from a 2002 Shiraz. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue, strong brick red overtones. The nose is appealing with a perfumed sniff. Top note of plum and spice, followed by stewed fruit and liquorice allsorts. The palate fruit flavours are beginning to dry out. Plum and stewed fruit are followed by cedar, spice and some mocha. Fine dry tannins. Plum and stewed fruit aftertaste.

Pre-Release sample tasted May 2006: Almost opaque black purple colour with deep crimson purple hue. Perfumed nose with violet top notes followed by spice and liquorice. The palate delivers excellent length and persistence. Mouthfilling flavours of spice, mocha, liquorice and plum are followed by a layer of vanilla. Fine grained tannins. Very long aftertaste of liquorice allsorts, vanilla and plum.
