2002 Penny's Hill Malpas Road Merlot

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson brick red hue. Aroma of mulberry, leather, cedar, truffle and spice. The palate has a distinct arrow mint character over a mulberry background. Velvet tannins, with excellent length and persistence. Aftertaste of raisin cake, mulberry, mint and spice.

First tasted, September 2004:
Very deep crimson brick red colour, with deep crimson brick red hue. Aroma of mulberry, cedar and spice followed by a hint of tea leaf and confectionary. Mouth filling palate, with flavours of liquorice allsorts and spice. Velvet smooth – joosy mulberry jam. Velvet texture, with aftertaste of plum, spice and liquorice.
