2002 Orlando Lawson's Padthaway Shiraz

One of the last releases from the outstanding 2002 vintage. Sourced entirely from the original 2.8 hectare Lawson’s vineyard planted in 1968 at Padthaway, the wine was matured for 21 months in new American oak hogsheads.

A wine with delightful aromatics. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose of confectionary, violets and vanilla with end notes of liquorice allsorts and blackberry. The palate has weight and impressive flavours of plum, liquorice, vanilla and spice are followed by stewed fruit and coffee. There are nuances of eucalyptus and black pepper in the background. Fine grained tannins. Long aftertaste of vanilla, confectionary, liquorice, coffee and spice.
