An outstanding wine, named after H.J ‘Bert’ Oliver, who on return form the RAAF in World War II planted a Shiraz block from which this fruit is sourced. This is the third release of an Oliver’s Taranga Reserve Shiraz. Selected from the best parcels of old vine Shiraz, it has been barrel selected and bottle aged for the optimum flavour enhancement. The wine was matured in 100% new French oak for 30 months.

Almost opaque black crimson colour with deep mauve crimson hue.  The nose delivers a superb sniff, with violet top notes followed by spice, vanilla and blackberry.  Mouthfilling palate, with intense flavours of spice, black pepper and blackberry, followed by vanilla and white pepper.  Perfect balance, with velvet tannin structure.  Aftertaste of violet infusions, blackberry and raspberry, followed by very long and persistent white and black pepper. Very Limited stocks.
Cellar 4-5 years (2009-2010)
