2002 Leabrook Estate Chardonnay

An impressive Chardonnay which delivers a powerful nose and palate. Brilliant pale gold colour. The nose is pronounced with notes of hazelnut, yeast lees, cashew, spice and biscuit emerging. Mouth filling palate – flavours of biscuit, yeast lees, spice and cashews all integrates with toasted oak. Creamy palate texture. Soft acid finish. Very long aftertaste of spicy toasted oak and hazelnut.

First Tasted: September 2003
Bright apricot gold colour. Aroma of biscuit, yeast lees and cashew followed by a hint of melon, spice and fig as end notes. The palate is quite dry, nutty with complex layers of roast almonds, a hint of citrus and fig over a very spicy backbone. Very long aftertaste of yeast lees, biscuit, spice, toast and almonds.
