2002 Kangarilla Road Shiraz

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
$19. 99

$239.88 Dozen

An impressive, elegant wine. Opaque black crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose has an impressive lift, with aroma of liquorice, plum and blackpepper emerging. The palate delivers plenty of flavour, without the ‘fruit bomb’ effect that many of the McLaren Vale reds manage to deliver. White and blackpepper flavours are overlaid by a plum and spice filled palate. Very soft tannins with long blackpepper aftertaste.

Robert Parker's Review
Aged 14 months in primarily French oak, the deep plum/purple-colored, layered, opulently-textured, fruit-driven 2002 Shiraz possesses a terrific bouquet of blackberry liqueur, smoke, camphor, and underbrush. With loads of glycerin, no hard edges, and a big, plump, fleshy mouthfeel, it is the type of wine made in Australia, but nowhere else in the world. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years.
