An outstanding example of Old Vines Shiraz...

An outstanding wine, made from Shiraz grown in the North, South, East and West old vineyards (planted in 1961) and from fruit sourced from the OLD BASTARD VINEYARD (planted in 1893). Totally opaque black purple colour with purple hue. Aroma of liquorice, spice, blackberry, plum and vanilla. Excellent palate weight, velvet smooth tannin structure, followed by a strong blackpepper back palate. Flavours of liquorice, plum, toasted oak and vanilla. Very long aftertaste of liquorice, plum, vanilla and blackpepper. The wine has been unfined and unfiltered to retain maximum flavour.
Cellar 5-8 years (2009-2012)

Other reviews......

Medium to full-bodied; gains momentum and strength as it travels along the palate towards the finish; fine, silky tannins. From 1961 and 1993 plantings
