Kaesler is a Barossa winery that is steeped in history which dates back to 1893 when the first vineyard was established. After a century of colourful activity, the present day partnership that is Kaesler remains determined to produce exceptionally concentrated wines from their vineyards. When winemaker REID BOSWARD was asked why he made such powerful wines his reply was “Because we can. Lean wines are for lean areas. The Barossa allows us to have a high intensity of flavour which most other places can’t do.” The Cabernet is made from twenty five year old vines grown on red brown loams over clay and limestone rubble.

Tasting Notes: Totally opaque black crimson colour. Aroma of violets, blackcurrants, spice and cedar - a superb lifted nose. Mouthfilling palate with a voluptuous generosity that has become the ‘powerhouse’ trademark of the Barossa style. Flavours of plum, spice and blueberry are followed by smoky oak, liquorice and cedar. Fine grained tannins which persist onto the aftertaste with long liquorice, blackcurrant and spice aftertaste.Cellar 3-4 years (2007-2008) Alc/Vol 14.5%
