Opaque crimson colour with opaque crimson hue. Top note of confectionary followed by cedar, spice and blackcurrant, with violet end note. The palate is generous showing excellent depth and concentration of flavour. Flavours of blackcurrant and cedar are followed by confectionary and violet infusions. There is a delightful hint of mint on the back palate. The wine is in great condition. Perfectly balanced with very long aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar and spice.

Other Reviews…
A new offering that I have never tasted before is the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon The Benbournie, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 14 months in French oak. This spectacular effort admirably demonstrates what can be achieved in ClareValley with Cabernet. (See the wines of Kilikanoon as well.) Gorgeous peppery, minty, black currant, and flowery scents jump from the glass of this inky/purple-hued wine. Full-bodied, powerful, intense, and rich, with notes of roasted meats, dried herbs, and spice, good purity, and a sensational finish, it is accessible now, and should drink well for 15-20 years.
