A grape variety more suited to blending with members of the Cabernet family rather than going alone, however, a more than respectable wine has been produced. Opaque black purple colour with deep mauve crimson hue. The nose is a touch subdued with notes of earth, spice, cherry, violets and liquorice allsorts emerging. On the palate flavours of cherry, spice and liquorice allsorts emerge with a spicy black pepper back palate. Cherry and spice aftertaste persists.
