A superb example of Eileen Hardy Shiraz.  Eileen Hardy was the matriarch of the Hardy Wine Company. We first met Eileen Hardy in the ‘70’s, she was  affectionately known by family and friends as Auntie Eileen, and was an eloquent promoter of the family’s wine by isolating the finest parcel of fruit that the company produced each year.

Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue, with excellent cling to the glass.  Superb lifted nose of violet, liquorice allsorts and spice followed by end notes of blackberry.  The palate is mouthfilling, with flavours of black pepper, violet infusions and cedar.  Fine grained tannins, perfect balance with very long aftertaste of black pepper, spice and plum.  A refined Shiraz – with great class – or ‘breed’ as our English friends would put it.
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 14%
