2002 Gordon & Macphail The Macphail's Collection Glenturret 13 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

An indie Glenturret matured in first fill Sherry puncheons, distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2015.

Notes from the bottler... Sweet Sherry influences with hints of raisin, toffee apple and bees wax polish aromas complemented by a charred oak edge. Sweet and peppery with ripe banana, orange and hints of smooth milk chocolate which combine with charred oak flavours. A liquorice edge develops. 43% Alc./Vol.

Previously called "Hosh", Glenturret was renamed in 1875, some 20 years or so after the nearby original operation of the same name closed. With only two stills, it's one of Scotland's smallest distilleries. Silent between 1923 and 1959, it later became a key component in the Famous Grouse blends. Today, Glenturret is home to "The Famous Grouse Experience" and remains one of the most visited distilleries in Scotland.
