An outstanding red, made by father and son team, COLIN and BEN GLAETZER. The use of Cabernet together with Shiraz and Grenache is unusual, but in this case works very well – it pays not to have any preconceptions about what goes with what.
The wine has been matured in French and American oak for 14 months. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Delightful aroma of violets, spice, plum, blackcurrant, cedar and vanilla. The palate displays a very successful juxtaposition of ripe berry flavours and is mouthfilling and perfectly integrated with the oak. Flavours of liquorice, spice, plum, raspberry and blackcurrant fill the mouth and are supported by back palate flavours of spice and a touch of vanilla. Soft, but dryish tannins. Very long aftertaste of vanilla, plum and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2007-2008) STELVIN CAP.
