2002 Gibson's Australian Old Vine Collection Grenache

This old vine Grenache was sourced from a ‘remnants’ vineyard which was planted in 1908 in the Blewitt Springs/Clarendon area. Opaque black purple colour with deep purple mauve hue. Superb nose of violets, raspberry, cherry and spice followed by hints of confectionary and liquorice allsorts. The palate is relatively tight, but will blossom with time. The style is classic refined Gibson. The voluptuous characters are held back in favour of elegance with force. Flavours of raspberry, cherries and violet infusions are meshed with superfine tannins and very long aftertaste.
