This outstanding example of Italian wine has been produced from Sangiovese, Negro Amaro, Red Malvasia, Montepulciano and Primitivo grapes. The history of the Estate dates back to 1582 when the Princess of Margherita purchased the town of Ortona for 52,000 ducats (she probably got the population thrown in!) The vineyards are located in the Valley on the Northern slopes of the Moro River, which is located 30 kilometres from the coast. The maritime growing conditions create the perfect microclimate for the development of the five grape varieties that are used.

Opaque black crimson colour with deep black crimson hue. Perfumed nose of violets, blackcurrant, red currant and spice. The flavour profile is mouthfilling – ripe black cherries, plum, spice and confectionary are in abundance and supported by fine tannins with a touch of leather in the background. Very long aftertaste of black cherry, plum, black pepper and spice.
